How long does the assessment take?

Last updated October 28, 2026

Short answer

The assessment is a single visit on site, and there is nothing to prepare for it. We score the roof there and then, tell you what the score supports, and follow it with a written estimate. The application itself is the part with a published timing: about two hours, in one visit.

One visit, not a survey

The assessment is not a multi-day survey and it is not a sales appointment. We look at the roof, the material it is made of and the repairs it needs, and the score comes out of that.

You do not need to prepare anything. If you would rather be there, we will book a time that suits you; if not, the visit does not need you on site.

The numbers that are published

The timing this site publishes is the one attached to the work: application is about two hours on site, in one visit, with no tear-off. That is the same whether the roof takes a single coat or the two-coat build.

The assessment itself is a short visit ahead of that, and the exact time is confirmed when the visit is booked, so nobody is guessing what the day will look like.

What comes back to you afterwards

A written estimate: the treatment the score supports, the scope of the work, the warranty term that applies and the price. It arrives before anything is scheduled, and there is no charge for it.

If the score puts the roof somewhere a treatment will not hold, that is in the same conversation rather than a surprise later.

What makes the visit quicker

Send the address with the request so service can be confirmed before anyone drives out. Tell us anything you already know about the roof: whether it has leaked, whether it has been repaired, and whether the shingles are original.

That is all that is needed to plan the visit and to make sure the right person turns up with the right equipment.

Why it cannot be done from a desk

A score is a measurement of a surface, and a surface cannot be measured through a photograph or a satellite image. Two roofs that look identical from the street can be a band apart, because the difference is in the granules and the feel of the shingle rather than in the outline.

That is the whole reason the visit exists, and it is why no price is given before it.
