Dr. Armor

How it works

What a treatment actually does

Three things happen to the surface, in one visit, with nothing torn off.

Asphalt shingle roofs and concrete. Metal roofs are not eligible.

The mechanics

Into the material, not on top of it

01

It moves into the surface

A coating sits on top of a surface. The treatment works into the pores that are already there, so the protection is part of the material rather than a layer over it.

02

It rehydrates what has dried out

Bio-oils and nano work into dried-out material so the surface holds a little more of the flexibility it was made with. That is what reduces cracking and crumbling.

03

It helps water run off

Once the surface is treated, water beads and runs off instead of soaking in. Less water in the material means less freeze-thaw damage, less moss and less algae.

Compared with a coating

Why it behaves differently

Stays on the surface as a film

Works into the existing pores

Needs frequent reapplication

Applied once, no film to peel

Traps moisture underneath

Lets the surface breathe

Looks different from the original surface

Keeps the original look

The process

How your project runs

  1. Free assessment

We check material, condition and age, and tell you whether a treatment is a fit.

  2. Written estimate

A clear scope and price before anything is scheduled, including any repairs your roof needs.

  3. Preparation

The surface is cleaned, landscaping is protected, and repairs on the estimate are done.

  4. Application

One visit. The treatment is applied, and the warranty is registered where it applies.

The detail

The questions behind the process

What "nano" means at this scale
The particles are around 30,000 times smaller than a human hair. At that size they can move through openings in the surface that a coating cannot enter, which is why the treatment behaves differently from a sealer.
How long it takes to cure
The surface needs 24 to 48 hours of dry weather after application. We check the forecast before booking, and we return at no charge if rain arrives inside that window.
What a treatment will not do
It does not repair an active leak, replace missing shingles, rebuild rotten decking or fix cracked concrete. Those are repair jobs, and they come first. A treatment protects a surface that is still working.
