The two things it covers
The warranty is written around what the treatment is responsible for. First, failure of the treated shingle where the treatment caused it: premature peeling, curling or warping that would not have happened without the application. Second, water penetration through the treated shingle.
That is a narrower promise than a full roof guarantee, and it is meant to be. A treatment cannot warrant a roof against hail, age or the deck underneath. What it can do is stand behind its own work on the surface it treated.
The term depends on the roof, not the invoice
Coverage runs from 3 to 20 years, and the number is set by two things: the treatment and the Roof Health Score measured at the assessment.
On a roof scored Good, Fortify Elite, the two-coat build, carries 20 years non-prorated plus 5 years of hail coverage. Fortify on the same roof is up to 15 years, and 12 years on Fair. Revive is up to 10 years on Aging and 12 years combined with Fortify. Boost is a bridge of 3 to 5 years, or 10 years combined with Fortify.
- Fortify Elite: 20 yrs + 5-yr hail (Good) / 15 yrs (Fair)
- Fortify: 15 yrs (Good) / 12 yrs (Fair)
- Revive + Fortify: 12 yrs (Aging)
- Revive: 10 yrs (Aging) / 7 yrs (Low, Critical)
- Boost + Fortify: 10 yrs (Low, Critical)
- Boost: 5 yrs (Low, Critical) / 3 yrs (Replace, bridge)
Full coverage every year, or full and then reducing
The term and the shape of the cover are two different things, and the warranty states both.
The two-coat builds carry full coverage every year of the term. The single applications carry full coverage for the first five years and then reducing cover, and Revive in the lower bands is full for the first three years and then reducing. Boost on its own is reducing from year one.
That is why the top tier is described as non-prorated: it is the one build where the cover does not step down across the term.
The three-step remedy
If something goes wrong, the remedy is set out in three steps rather than left to a conversation.
First, a free inspection. Second, a free re-treatment if the inspection supports one. Third, a roofing material allowance if the re-treatment does not resolve it. That is the order the terms set, and it is the order we work in.
Registration, transfer and the price lock
The warranty must be registered within 30 days of the treatment. We register it after the work is done, so there is nothing for you to chase, but the 30-day window is part of the terms and worth knowing.
It transfers once to the next owner of the house, which matters at resale. And it includes a 20% price lock on a future re-treatment, so a roof treated now is not starting from scratch when it is treated again.
What is not covered
Water that enters at flashing, vents, pipe boots, valleys, chimneys, skylights, seams or nail holes, or at gutters and ice dams. Wind-lifted shingles. Storms and acts of God. Hail, except Fortify Elite on a roof scored Good. Pre-existing issues, age and normal wear. Damage from foot traffic or from equipment fitted later. Interior and consequential damage. Labour.
Two practical points. Coverage depends on your condition score, so the band the roof lands in decides the term it can be issued. And an insurance certificate for the treatment is available on request, though no insurance discount is guaranteed.
