A treatment, not a replacement
The shingles on your roof are the roof. Even when they have dried out, they are still the surface that keeps weather out of the house, so throwing them away is one option rather than the only one. Rejuvenation treats that existing surface. There is no tear-off, no new layer laid on top and no dumpster in the driveway.
That matters for a roof that is still doing its job. A replacement throws away shingles that may have years left in them, along with the cost and disruption of a multi-day tear-off. A treatment works with what is already there, and it is done in a single visit of about two hours.
What you end up with is your own roof: same shingles, same colour, same profile. The difference is that the surface sheds water again instead of holding it.
Why shingles dry out
An asphalt shingle starts life flexible. Sun, heat and time draw the oils out of the asphalt, and a dry shingle stops shedding water the way it used to. Water then sits in the surface, granules loosen, and edges begin to curl.
Add a southern winter and the damage accelerates. Water that has soaked into a shingle freezes, expands and pushes the material apart from the inside. Freeze-thaw is one of the two forces the NuRoof range is built against, alongside UV.
Most of the roofs we are called to are at exactly this stage. The roof is not failing. It is drying, and the shingles are still sound enough to work on. That is the window rejuvenation is for.
- Roof still holds water out, but the surface looks tired and dull
- Granules collecting in gutters or at the foot of downpipes
- Shingles feel brittle rather than supple at the edge
- No active leak, no soft spots, no missing sections
What happens on the day
The visit is short and there is only one of them. We work through the same sequence every time, so there are no surprises on the day.
The roof needs 24 to 48 hours of dry weather afterwards to cure. We watch the forecast and plan the visit around it, and we tell you when the surface can be walked on again.
- The surface is cleaned first, so the treatment reaches the shingle rather than the dirt on it
- Landscaping below the work area is protected while we work
- The treatment is applied to the shingles already on the roof
- The site is cleaned up and the warranty is registered where it applies
What rejuvenation cannot do
It is not a rescue for a failed roof. A leak is a repair job and has to be fixed first, because a treatment protects a surface that is still working. Shingles that are missing, cracked through or lifting are dealt with before anything protective goes on.
If the assessment finds a roof that is at the end of its working life, replacement is the honest answer and we will say so at the visit rather than sell a treatment that cannot hold. The same applies if the roof is metal, which is not eligible for this treatment at all.
What the free assessment decides
Condition decides, not age on its own. Two roofs of the same age can be in very different shape, so we score the roof at the assessment and let that score pick the treatment.
A roof in good condition can take Fortify, a single-coat UV shield, or Fortify Elite, the two-coat build with the longest coverage in the range. A roof that has dried out but is still sound takes Revive. A roof in low or critical condition takes Boost, a bridge treatment that buys time while a replacement is planned.
The Roof Health Score also sets the warranty term that applies. You get the treatment, the scope and the price in writing after the free assessment, before anything is scheduled.
