Traditional concrete sealers work by covering the surface. The GoNano approach works by changing the pores themselves. The practical differences show up months later, not on the day of application.

Film versus pore

A film-forming sealer sits on the slab and has to stay bonded to it. Sun, traffic and moisture work at that bond from the day it cures, and the failure mode is visible: peeling, clouding, or wearing through in the traffic lanes.

A penetrating treatment bonds inside the pores. There is no interface to peel, and wear shows as water no longer beading rather than as a coating coming off.

Breathability

Concrete gets wet from below as well as above. A film traps that moisture under the surface, and when it wants out it takes the film with it.

Because a penetrating product leaves the slab breathable, moisture can leave the way it came in.

Grip and appearance

Gloss films change how concrete looks and how it feels underfoot when wet. Many homeowners want neither on a driveway or a walkway.

A pore-level treatment leaves the surface looking like concrete, with its texture and slip resistance intact.

Which one for which job

Garage floors and decorative surfaces often want the hard film and the finish it gives. Exterior slabs that see salt, weather and foot traffic usually want breathability and grip.

We only apply the NuRoof concrete treatment, and only where the assessment says the slab is sound enough to take it.
