The rated life on a shingle bundle is a laboratory number. What a roof actually gets depends on how much sun, water and freeze-thaw it sees, and on how early anyone did something about it.
Rated life versus real life
A shingle rated for 25 years is rated for a set of conditions that few roofs experience. A roof in strong sun with poor ventilation, or one in a freeze-thaw climate, will reach the end of its useful life sooner than the label suggests.
This is not a defect in the product. It is how composite materials age when the thing that keeps them flexible is slowly removed.
What exposure takes away
UV removes the light oils. Water soaks into the mat and expands when it freezes. Algae feeds on the filler, and granules loosen as the asphalt beneath them shrinks and dries.
None of these happen suddenly. They compound, which is why the earlier the surface is protected, the more of the roof’s life there is left to protect.
Why early matters more than heavy
On a roof that is still sound, a single application of the right treatment restores flexibility and water repellency. On a roof that has already dried out badly, the same product has less to work with.
That is why we match the treatment to the condition score rather than applying the most expensive option to every roof.
Protection is not a replacement
If the assessment finds an active leak, missing shingles or structural damage, a treatment is the wrong answer and we say so. Protection preserves a working roof; it does not rebuild one.
Where it applies, the result is a written GoNano warranty, registered in your name, with coverage from 3 to 20 years depending on the treatment and the score.

Questions
Common questions, answered in full
- How long does roof rejuvenation last?Coverage runs from 3 to 20 years, and the roof’s condition score decides which.
- Can you treat a roof that is leaking? No. A leak is a repair job and has to be fixed before any treatment.
- What does the warranty cover?Peeling, curling or warping caused by the treatment, and water getting through.
